Clinical Process Redesign

Healthtech’s Process Redesign methodology has been developed and honed by consultants with broad clinical, administrative and business experience.  It utilizes a standard approach that is customizable and can be tailored to fit the clients’ size, needs, deliverables and magnitude of change.

Healthtech’s Process Redesign Methodology is comprised of five phases:

  • Phase One: Preparation and Initiation;
  • Phase Two: Define Current State;
  • Phase Three: Analysis;
  • Phase Four: Future State Design; and
  • Phase Five: Implementation, Evaluation, Sustainability and Spread.

Phases One to Four are generally utilized for process redesign with a report at the end of either Phase Three or Four. Phase Five represents the implementation of the redesign process and utilizes Healthtech’s Project Management process and tools.  Some projects will encompass all five phases. Others may involve a single phase only. The methodology, approach and tools are fully customizable, sizable and flexible.

Healthtech consultants  use a number of  strategies for assisting with redesign of processes and business improvement which may be guided by some of the following models ; Six Sigma and Lean/Kaizen,  Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC); Demmings Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) Methodology, Total Quality Management/ Continuous Quality Improvement (TQM/CQI), and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).

All the models and strategies that are used involve a methodical, systematic and cyclical approach to process redesign.  All employ an initial review of process, consultation and redesign in accordance with stakeholders input and feedback. The objectives are also similar: decrease cycle time, increase efficiency, decrease costs and improve quality. Healthtech’s redesign methodology is evidence based and value added, producing results for the client.
